Selecting the Perfect Imprint Colors for Your Design

Choosing imprints and product colors is one of the most exciting parts of designing, but it can also be a little tricky. Sometimes, colors that look bold and vibrant on a computer screen may appear different in real life.

This happens because the Design Studio displays colors under optimal lighting conditions (without shadows or dim lighting), and computer screens often enhance colors with built-in filters. While this makes digital colors look more vivid, it can slightly alter how they appear in print.

Our art team carefully reviews every order at Imprint.com to check for color contrast issues. If we notice a potential problem that might affect the final look, we’ll reach out to discuss it and suggest alternative colors to ensure you're happy with your design.

Quick Tips for Choosing Eye-Catching Color Combinations

Selecting the right color combinations can make your design stand out! Here are some helpful guidelines, especially for shirts:

  • Light-Colored Shirts: Be cautious when using pastel colors like yellow, baby blue, or light pink. While they are visible, they may not be easy to read from a distance. Adding a darker outline to lighter text can improve legibility.
  • Dark-Colored Shirts: Lighter ink colors generally work well, but be mindful of darker shades like cardinal, maroon, or forest green. These may appear vibrant in the Design Studio but can sometimes look dull or brownish when printed due to the shirt’s color affecting the ink. If we notice this in your order, we’ll reach out to recommend a color that prints closer to your original choice.

Some color combinations may look great on screen but appear too subtle or distorted when printed. Our team is here to help ensure your final design looks just right!
